Strategicon Update

Hi All!

I’ve been working really hard to get a small print run of Starcade (50 copies) ready for Strategicon and they will be available for $5. Check out the page! As a Special Guest at Strategicon, they have given me a booth and I’ll have a ton of stuff for everyone to check out: We Are Dead games, demos, buttons, stickers, shirts, and prints; Starcade games, demos, and buttons; and a small demo of Dead@17 the deckbuilding game.

If you are going to this show please, please, please stop by and say hello! If you can’t make it to the show, keep checking back or follow on Twitter to find out when Starcade goes up on Kickstarter.

Fantastic Things

So much is going on right now. All of the Kickstarter copies have either been received or are in the mail out to the backers. I’m trying to handle any issues as they arise.

Since I got most of the games in the mail almost 500 copies of the game have gone out to gaming and comic book stores. Following the release I went to the GAMA trade show and interacted with over 100 stores and got to show them the game first hand. It was incredibly successful! Finally, I had a table at WonderCon and had an amazing reception from the crowd there.

Someone from almost every demo session picked up a copy of the game and couldn’t be happier with peoples reaction when they play the game.

Moving Forward

This weekend (April 25) I’ll be in San Diego at KingdomCon. I’ll be demoing all day Friday and Saturday. If you are in the area come check out the con. This will be my first year there, but it sounds like it’s going to be a great time. It seems to me that the con was built up around the local miniatures community and is growing their board game and RPG events and presence. I’m excited to be apart of it!

In the next couple of updates I’ll talk about the Dead@17 Kickstarter Reboot and a new micro-game that I’ve made and want to do a quick limited release for. More info to come!

We Are Dead Shipping and Dead@17 Relaunch

So the first Kickstarter campaign for Dead@17 didn’t fund. We got very close and I wrote a postmortem which you can read here. I site one of the main issues as not having delivered We Are Dead yet. Well, that is being corrected right now. As of this post I have all most 600 of the 750 games shipped out and will have the rest done within the next week.

Following the shipping of We Are Dead to backers it will also be coming to gaming/ comic stores. If you are looking for a copy make sure to ask your local store for it and they will be able to order it through normal distribution.

Once the shipping is done, We Are Dead is in a good place and I will have demos, events, and convention presence whenever I can. Moreover, I working on getting Dead@17 rebooted for Kickstarter. The campaign will be simplified and streamlined. I can’t wait to get that game green-lit. Currently I’m looking at late March to mid April for the reboot. Follow on Twitter or Facebook to keep informed on the launch date!

Dead @ 17 Now on Kickstarter!

We are up and running on Kickstarter! Over night we passed 1/3 of our funding in just 12 hours. There are lots of great pledge levels where backers can pick up some awesome items. If you are a fan of deck-building games I think you are really going to like it. There is a draft of the rules and a free print ‘n play for download! Check out what we are offering: ¬†

Production Updates

We Are Dead is in the tail end of Pre-Production. We are just working out an issue with the card quality. I think I’m going to spend extra and get even better cards for the game. They are rushing more samples out to me so I can evaluate them. I’ve made an un-boxing video of the hard proofs that I’m working on as an update for the Kickstarter page.

Dead @ 17 is still progressing nicely. We are working on getting everything ready for the Kickstarter campaign.  There is just so much that goes into it and I want to make sure we start off on the best footing possible. There is still more to do, but it will be online soon!

Dead @ 17 Mailing List

Now that We Are Dead is off to the printer, I’m not sitting back. I’ve got many more games planned. Never Peak Games has teamed up with Dead @ 17 creator, Josh Howard, to make a deck building game based on his compelling characters. If you would like to receive an email when this game goes live on Kickstarter in August, jump over to the Dead @ 17 product page and submit your email.
